Social Networking

As much as people will sit there and complain about sites like Facebook and MySpace, I think they're great. I've moved around a lot and Facebook has allowed my to keep in touch with old friends that I haven't seen in years. Facebook is also an easy way to make plans, invite people to a party, etc.

When it comes to sites this these, I think people just need to be aware of the content they are placing on the site. Employers are catching on to this, and reading up on what their employees do in their spare time, which in turn could result in the lose of their job. I don't agree with employers doing this, but the fact is they are, so either watch what your putting up, or just ensure that your privacy settings are set properly.

Seeing as how these Social Networking sites have so much traffic, it's the perfect way for advertisers to target such a key demographic. I think it would be so beneficial for advertisers to target based on location as well as the interests of a specific user. I think that advertisers could do a lot with social networking sites, and reach a lot of people.
